Then he said we'd split the proceeds 50-50.
"WHAT?? No way. I'll be doing all the work! 75-25," I said.
"60-40. They're my textbooks," he shot back, "Take it or leave it."
"Leave it!" I shouted.
A few minutes later, he cajolingly offered 60-40 again. I countered with 65-35, to which he laughed admiringly. You do have to admire my Taurus stubbornness. It doesn't come out all that often, but when it does, oh baby.
Finally I did agree to 60-40 as long as he went and bought the envelopes to mail all the books off when (if) they sell.

I have a ton of old textbooks from college. I want to make a tidy sum too.
Ooh, I sold all of my textbooks through barnesandnoble.com. They even pay for shipping for you and all you have to do is print out the label. Amazon is probably the same. Anyway, I slipped in several of my husband's old textbooks without telling him. I also failed to mention the check once it came in the mail. Some people might call that dishonest, I just call it clever.
It's funny how different couples do things differently. There wouldn't have been a question of who got how much in my house...it would have just gone into the bank, but that's just how we operate. I WISH I just got mad money to throw around on whatever I wanted!
You're awesome, especially making him go get the envelopes. I think it's fair...but wait, who will go to the post office to mail them?
Personally I am a packrat when it comes to books and its hard for me to get rid of any, no matter the dust on the binder. However, a fine job using capializism - he would not received any money if you had not did your job... NLM

Ya I am probably most like Chas. Everything goes into the black hole called my checkbook. But then I might have felt justified in ordering that cute dress that I saw online. If it was on sale who can argue that.
